In celebration of Valentine’s Day, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) unveils a special set of stamps and souvenirs that showcase traditional Filipino courtship customs at Lucky Chinatown Atrium.
PHLPost’s “Perfect Match” Valentine’s Stamps of 2025 feature charming illustrations of food pairings that symbolize love and affection. These include Liham ng Pag-ibig (Love Letter) represented by Sorbetes and Monay, Pagbigkas ng Tula (Poetry Recital) with Kape and Pandesal, Paninilbihan (Servitude) featuring Puto and Dinuguan, and Harana (Serenade) depicted by Champorado and Tuyo. Each pairing reflects the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage and the heartfelt ways Filipinos express their love.
PHLPost Postmaster General Luis D. Carlos says that the special stamps reflect the courier’s significant role in connecting people through letters and deliveries. According to PMG Carlos sending gifts and letters is the most common and heartfelt way for people to express their love.
“PHLPost’s letter and delivery services act as more than just a service—they are a bridge that connects hearts across the globe. Every letter we send carries a story of love, memories, and unforgettable connections,” says Postmaster General Luis D. Carlos.
Through these special stamps, PHLPost encourages Filipinos to look into traditions and to keep the value of writing and sending letters to loved ones even in the digital age, according to PMG Carlos.
“Despite the advancements in technology, the PHLPost continues to contribute to fostering communication across the country. We are continuously improving services such as the Express Mail Service (EMS) and Postal ID to ensure the trust and confidence of the public,” according to PMG Carlos.

These stamps not only commemorate Valentine’s Day but also promote Filipino traditions that continue to influence modern romance. Writing love letters (liham ng pag-ibig), poetry recitals (pagbigkas ng tula), servitude (paninilbihan), and serenades (harana) were courtship customs in the past but are still felt in modern-day romance.
