PHLPost released stamps to mark the 25th Anniversary of the City of Candon

The Philippine Postal Corporation, led by Postmaster General and CEO Luis D. Carlos, launched the Commemorative Stamps of the 25th Anniversary of the City of Candon. The stamp features the historic Cry of Candon and pays tribute to Don Isabelo Abaya, along with the Candon City Hymn, created by Mrs. Minerva Dario Singson and Candanino Gaerlan.

The Cry of Candon, led by Don Isabelo Abaya, was a successful uprising against the Spanish colonizers within the convent of Candon, serving as a testament to the bravery and patriotism of the people of Candon.

The celebration was attended by Mayor Eric D. Singson and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Kristine Singson Meehan, who continues to support the development of Candon City. Also present were members of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines and representatives from various government agencies in Candon City.

According to Postmaster General Luis D. Carlos, “The commemorative stamp is more than just a piece of paper. It is the reflection of the rich and colorful history of the City of Candon. The postage stamps will take you to every corner of the world, conveying a story – of courage, unity, determination and love of country”.

He added, “We hope that these commemorative stamp serve as an inspiration and pride among the people whose love, dedication and passion to his work has brought prosperity and progress to a stronger City of Candon”.
