The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) received a Special Award from the Governance Commission for Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation (GCG) for consistently achieving a perfect score on the Stakeholder Relationship Section of the Corporate Governance Scorecard for an impressive three consecutive years from 2021 to 2023.

PHLPost Chairman Justice Stephen C. Cruz and Postmaster General Luis D. Carlos received the recognition during the GCG Awards Ceremony held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City last November 25.

“I congratulate all the men and women of PHLPost for their hard work, loyalty and dedication to public service”, Chairman Cruz added.

This prestigious event honors Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) for their outstanding performance and dedication to good governance.

For three consecutive years PHLPost has been proud to achieve a perfect score in the Stakeholder Relationship section of the Corporate Governance Scorecard. This recognition underscores its consistency in building strong, transparent, and effective partnerships with all its stakeholders—crucial towards advancing its modernization and digital transformation program.

“We are grateful to the GCG for this recognition, as we remain committed in our mission to provide reliable and quality service to the Filipino people”, Postmaster General Carlos said.

The GCG is mandated to evaluate the performance of the GOCCs to ensure that their operations are transparent and responsive to the needs of the public.

The Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS) has been issued within the GOCC Sector covered by Republic Act No. 10149 known as GOCC Governance Act of 2011 recognizing the potential of GOCCs as a significant tool for economic development.

The CGS serves as an instrument to assess the Corporate Governance initiatives and practices of GOCCs using a methodology benchmarked against the OECD (the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) Principles of Corporate Governance and ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard.
