The postal service has a history spanning more than two hundred years of service to the Filipino people. As this enduring institution embarks on digital transformation and innovation, postal employees highlight the weeklong celebration from November 4-9, 2024 with simple yet memorable activities.

For the first time after almost two years, employees were back at the historic Manila Central Post Office (MCPO) to celebrate Monday’s flag raising ceremony at its new corporate office located at Annex Building inside the MCPO compound in Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila.

Choir from the Mega Manila Area sang the Lupang Hinirang and hosted the Flag Ceremony, followed with the opening remarks from Postmaster General Luis Carlos and a Message from Justice Stephen Cruz, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

A certificate of CNA Registration was presented by the Civil Service Commission to PMG Luis Carlos, Chairman Stephen Cruz, along with the members of the Board of Directors namely; Dir. Ricardo R. Blancaflor, Dir. Noel Dacasion, Dir. Raul B. Leyritana, Dir. Ernesto O. Severino, Corporate Secretary Atty. Wendell V. Dimaculangan together with Grezaldo Lacson, President of P.O.S.T.A.L union.

Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) Chairperson Dr. Arthur Casanova, together with Mr. Jomar I. Canega, Puno, Sangay ng Impormasyon at Publikasyon at Gng. Pinky Jane S. Tenmatay, Senior Language Researcher awarded PHLPost with a plaque of recognition for being a Hall of Famer, winning five (5) consecutive years at the KWF Selyo ng Dangal ng Kahusayan sa Serbisyo Publiko.

Capping the opening celebration is a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by no less than the Secretary General of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), Msgr. Bernardo Pantin, JCD. It was followed with a ribbon cutting, blessing and inauguration of the New Annex Building.

The weeklong celebration also includes, Nov. 5, Philhealth updates (CMEC Pasay City), Media Launch of Postal ID & EMS Next Day Delivery (2nd Floor New Annex Bldg), Mental Health Awareness Online Lecture (CMEC Pasay City), Nov. 7, Opening Ceremony of National Stamp Collecting Month (SM City BF Paranaque), Nov. 7-9, Philatelic Exhibit and NAPEX opening ceremony (SM City BF Paranaque), Postal Retirees Day (PHLPost Annex Bldg) and Nov. 8 (Employees Tour of the National Museum of Natural History and Fine Arts (City of Manila) and Bloodletting Activity (CMEC Pasay City).
