The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) with eighteen (18) six-wheelers and four (4) ten-wheeler trucks will pick up, wrap, and deliver office equipment and other bulk items to offer to the government and the private sector in need of affordable logistics service.
With revitalized fleet upgrades, these new vehicles in addition to its existing mail vans will allow PHLPost to improve the delivery service and ensure seamless handling and delivery of goods it provides to customers.
The strategic expansion of PHLPost’s logistics fleet is a significant step towards enhancing its operational efficiency and reliability. PHLPost aims to strengthen its position in the logistics market, particularly in last-mile parcel delivery services. The shift to other services aside from mail is crucial in an era where e-commerce and logistics are booming, and the demand for efficient parcel delivery services is rising.
Postmaster General Luis Carlos said that the newly acquired vehicles will boost PHLPost’s capabilities to better serve the public and attract more institutional mailers to patronize its delivery and logistics services”, he added.
“The newly acquired postal vehicles will beef up the e-commerce and logistics delivery business of the postal service. With these brand new trucks, there is a bigger chance and opportunity for PHLPost to enter the e-commerce and logistics market this year”, he said.
Likewise, “ the “Postal Trinity” program of PHLPost which includes the establishment of Barangay Postal Stations nationwide to provide efficient last-mile delivery, reaching out even to far-flung areas of the country, the implementation of the new seven (7) digit alphanumeric new ZIP Code PH from the old four (4) digit which will standardize the addressing system in the country and the “Kartero App” for Real-Time Visibility system to modernize the delivery and efficiency of its mail operations will further strengthen the logistics service in the country”, PMG Carlos said.
