The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) announced that the Postal ID can be used as a valid form of identification and a primary document for passport application process with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

It is now being accepted at DFA’s Satellite Offices in Metro Manila and Regional Offices. The Postal ID is included in the list of documentary requirements with the DFA.

True to its commitment to provide better public service, the Postal ID assists in faster and smoother processes because it ultimately lessens complicated procedures and time-consuming steps when performing government transactions. Furthermore, the Postal ID may also be used as a valid ID when facilitating official transactions in banks, remittance centers and other financial institutions. It also bridges cardholders to various discounts and freebies from PHLPost-accredited merchants through the Postal ID Privilege Program.

Requirements to avail of the Postal ID are duly-accomplished application forms, a proof of identity and a proof of address. Application fee for the Postal ID is P550.00 which is inclusive of tax and delivery fee for regular issuance and P650 for Rush ID fee.

Launched by PHLPost during the celebration of the 257th Anniversary of the Philippine Postal Service this November, the Postal ID is the most secure and most accessible government-issued identification card for Filipinos today.

It is infused with multi-level security features such as the QR Code, which could be scanned using a downloadable PHLPost verification application; other security features confirm the applicant’s identity and uniqueness. The said security features protect the identity of the cardholder and combat fraudulent transactions or scams.

The Postal ID is a state-issued functional card that verifies an individual’s address. It’s also accepted for various government and financial transactions as long as it’s within its three-year validity period.

Application forms are available in all capturing stations and can also be downloaded online at postalidph.com or phlpost.gov.ph, The selected capturing stations and post offices nationwide can be seen on official PHLPost and Postal ID website and social media pages.
