The Philippine Postal Corporation (The Post Office) Eastern Mindanao Area-7 in its bid to promote and propagate Stamp Collecting and Letter Writing, has partnered with Philippine Stamp Collectors Society (PSCS) in the opening of the biggest and extraordinary “Manna Filatelica Stamps Exhibit” last July 23 to 25, 2024 at SM Ecoland, Davao City.

The event brought together local, national, and international stamp collectors for a vibrant celebration of philately or stamp collecting.

Postal Area 7 Director Bruce S. Concepcion said that the Post Office, headed by its innovative leader Chairman and Postmaster General Mike Planas is about to be rebranded, moving towards digital transformation to better adapt to the changing needs.

He added that the main focal point of the brand is THE POST OFFICE, to highlight the identity of the corporation as the premier courier provider for the nation as well as the exclusive producer, maker and distributor of the Philippine Stamps.

“Manna Filatelica” marks the first leg of a series of exhibit tour, with future stops scheduled in Cebu and Manila. Visitors had the opportunity to explore a diverse range of stamp collections featuring captivating topics such as “Ali Namo Diri sa Davao,” “Philippine Flora and Fauna,” “Only in the Philippines,” “Transition of Nations: How Countries Came To Be,” “Flowers on Souvenir Sheets from Canada,” and many more.

The exhibit was a collaboration between the Post Office and Philatelic collectors which highlighted the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of the Philippines while also showcasing international themes connecting collectors worldwide. It is an enlightening experience for both avid philatelists and those new to the hobby aimed at enticing young collectors to engage in the hobby of stamp collecting.
