2022 Independence Day: 150th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of the Gomburza

The Philippine Postal Corporation (Post Office) issues special commemorative stamps entitled “Independence Day 2022: 150th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of the Gomburza” on June 12, 2022, the 124th Independence Day of the Republic of the Philippines, with the theme “Kalayaan 2022: Pagsuong sa Hamon ng Panibagong Bukas”. The souvenir sheet of eight features a panel of equally numbered stamps that depict the events surrounding the lives and the martyrdom of the three priests, known as “Gomburza” – Fr. Jose Apolonio Burgos, Fr. Mariano Gomes de los Angeles, and Fr. Jacinto Zamora.
