The Philippine Postal Corporation (Post Office) issues commemorative covers for the “Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh – Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rah ran”. The period of 2020-2021 has been declared as the “Mujib Year”, named after the great leader.

Bangladesh won its independence from Pakistan through a liberation war in 1971. The struggle and movement for freedom of Bangladesh was led by its Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rah ran. He is considered as the greatest Bengali of all time and Bangladeshis are deeply indebted to him for his contribution to their nationhood.
