2019 Pinoy Music Icons

To commemorate the “Pinoy Music Icons” Rene Garcia, Rico J. Puno, and Pepe Smith, the Philippine Postal Corporation (Post Office) issued a special souvenir sheet for the three musicians during National Stamp Collecting Month 2019.

Rene Garcia of Hotdog defined Manila Sound and paved the way for OPM to be recognized globally. Rico J. Puno, the phenomenal balladeer, known as a “Total Entertainer” with his unmistakable, soulful vocals, trademark quick wit and racy jokes. Pepe Smith, an all-around musician and member of the Juan dela Cruz Band whose recordings pioneered Pinoy Rock, which instituted him as one of the fathers of the genre.
