PHLPost Temporarily Suspends International Outbound Mail to 35 Countries Due to Middle East Airspace Closures
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) officially announced today the immediate, temporary suspension of all international outbound mail services destined for 35 countries across several countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and South America.
This directive, issued through PHLPost operational advisory, affects all classes of mail, including letters, parcels, and Express Mail Service (EMS).
The suspension is a precautionary measure resulting from regional airspace closures in key transit hubs—specifically Dubai, UAE and Doha, Qatar—following recent military escalations in the Middle East.
These closures have disrupted primary air transport routes used by PHLPost, its international and airline partners.
The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) assures the public that it continues to prioritize the security of customers’ mail while implementing necessary measures to prevent significant service delays at this point in time.
PHLPost is closely coordinating with international postal administrations and customs authorities to ensure the safe handling and movement of mail items and to facilitate the gradual restoration and full resumption of services until further notice.
The suspension applies to the following 35 countries:
Middle East & Africa: Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia (Dammam, Jeddah, Riyadh), South Africa, UAE (Dubai), Israel and Iran.
Europe: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland.
Asia: Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
South America: Columbia and Brazil. ###
