Manila, Philippines — Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) officials and employees are gearing up to welcome postal leaders from across Southeast Asia as the Philippines prepares to host the ASEAN Postal Business Meeting (APBM) 2026 slated on October 5 to 7 at the Marriott Hotel Manila in Pasay City.
As part of the preparations, the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) recently conducted a Seminar-Workshop on Protocol for PHLPost personnel involved in organizing and managing the three-day meeting.
Led by Ambassador Marciano A. Paynor, Jr. (Ret.), a recognized expert in diplomatic protocol and international affairs, the training covered proper protocol, official ceremonies, international etiquette, and the appropriate handling of foreign delegates. It aims to equip PHLPost personnel with the knowledge and confidence to properly welcome and assist ASEAN delegates.
The APBM 2026 will gather postal leaders and industry representatives from across Southeast Asia to discuss ways to improve postal services, strengthen regional cooperation, and explore opportunities in e-commerce, logistics, and digital services.
The meeting is part of the Philippines’ active participation in the ASEAN Chairmanship 2026 and provides PHLPost an opportunity to strengthen ties with fellow ASEAN postal administrations while showcasing the Philippines as a capable and welcoming host.
PHLPost is working with concerned government agencies and ASEAN partners to ensure the successful conduct of the meeting and help advance postal services across the region.
