PRESS RELEASE: Mails to Maldives and Macau temporarily suspended

Acceptance of mails and parcels in post offices nationwide destined for Maldives and Macau has been temporarily suspended due to airline embargo.

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) issued the public advisory in order to preempt the possible delay of mails intended for Maldives and Macau due to conveyance problems.

PHLPost would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused the public.

Measures are being implemented by PHLPost in order to assist the public with regard to delay of mails intended for these countries.

Postmaster General Joel Otarra has already issued a circular to be disseminated to all post offices and area directors nationwide in order to make sure that all postmasters’, mail couriers and tellers are aware of these notices.

An advisory will again be issued by PHLPost as to its resumption as soon as the situation returns to normal.
