PRESS RELEASE: PHLPost set mail schedules for the Holy Week break

TO GUIDE the public for this Lenten season, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) have announced schedules of their operating hours during the Holy Week break from April 10-16 2017.

For Holy Monday to Holy Wednesday (April 10-12), all post offices shall be open observing the regular working and business hours.

However, all dispatches of mails for Airmail Exchange Department (AMED), Express Mails Exchange Department (EMED) in Pasay City and Surface Mail Exchange Department (SMED) in North Harbor , Manila and postal areas nationwide shall be suspended in the evening of 12 April 2017 (Holy Wednesday).

The work schedules in all PHLPost offices shall be closed on April 13 (Holy Thursday) which is a regular holiday, except in the operations area at AMED and EMED in Pasay and SMED located at Manila‚??s North Harbor. However, a skeletal force in the Mail receiving section shall be maintained for the receipt of international mails. Received mails shall be kept in cages or secured area.

For Good Friday, (April 14) offices shall be closed except at operations area in EMED and AMED (Central Mail Exchange Center) in Pasay City where work activities will be limited only in the receipt of international mails.

For Black Saturday, April 15 (special non-working holiday), post offices shall be closed except at EMED and AMED in Pasay City where work activities shall be limited only in the receipt of international mails.

Also, Express Mail Service (EMS) delivery will be limited to four (4) hours during April 15. Window Delivery Unit and Customer Service shall be open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM only.

On Easter Sunday, April 16, post offices shall be closed on this day except in the mail operations area at AMED and EMED in Pasay City where work activities will be limited to receipt of international mails. However, regular mail dispatch schedules from Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) to postal areas and international destinations will resume on this day. Regular operation at the post will resume Monday, April 17.
