PRESS RELEASE: PHLPost now accepts NBI Clearances

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has forged a Memorandum of Agreement pertaining to the establishment of NBI Satellite Office at Manila Central Post Office Building to serve as NBI Clearance processing site.

NBI Director Atty. Dante Gierran and Postmaster General Joel Otarra signed the agreement at the historic Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila.

The said partnership highlights the 25th corporate anniversary of PHLPost. The passing of the law in 1992, otherwise known as the Philippine Postal Service Act of 1992 paved the way for the corporatization of then Postal Service Office.

Geiran hope that this NBI-PHLPost project will help de-clog the long lines of NBI applicants in other areas who wish to get clearances at the convenience of the public.

In a statement, PHLPost said that the agreement marks an important step towards Government partnership on vital services starting with an agency that provides one of the fastest means of application processes in obtaining clearances for employment, gun licensing, travel abroad and many others.

Under Postmaster General and CEO Joel L. Otarra, PHLPost ushers in a new era of strengthening the delivery of public services, ensuring that PHLPost are properly addressing the needs of the people.

To meet public demands, this agreement brings access to public services closer to the consumers through PHLPost existing network of post offices and postal stations in the country.

As it celebrates its 25th corporate anniversary, PHLPost is set to redefine service delivery by bringing it closer to the public and widening its business territory.

While PHLPost continues to maintain its traditional mail delivery services to serve populations who are not yet linked electronically, it has gone beyond tradition to stay relevant, competitive and still serving the postal needs of every Filipino.
